Construction sites continue to be among the most dangerous work environments, with high rates of accidents caused by falls, equipment-related injuries, and unsafe behavior. Despite existing safety protocols, most construction sites still rely heavily on manual supervision, which limits the ability to monitor conditions in real time. This often results in delayed identification of hazards and slow response to incidents. Furthermore, site managers overseeing multiple projects have limited visibility into on-site safety conditions, making it difficult to consistently apply standards. Together, these issues highlight the need for a more intelligent and centralized approach to safety management in the construction industry. We propose an AI-driven Computer Vision System to monitor construction sites in real-time, improving safety compliance and providing centralized visibility to site managers. The system leverages surveillance cameras already present on-site or newly installed cameras integrated with a smart AI platform.

How it Works

Cameras are strategically positioned across the site to monitor high-risk areas such as scaffolding, machinery zones, access points, and walkways. The video streams are analyzed in real-time using computer vision algorithms trained to detect safety hazards, unauthorized access, and abnormal behaviors, enabling timely alerts and preventive actions. Thanks to a centralized dashboard, site managers can monitor multiple construction sites from a unified web-based dashboard. The dashboard allows to view in real time live video feeds, safety alerts and compliance statistics. The system sends instant notifications (email, SMS, app) to on-site supervisors and remote managers when violations or potential hazards are detected. Workers themselves can be notified in case of imminent danger. All incidents and safety metrics are logged for reporting, trend analysis and compliance auditing.
